Suet Feeder for Our Feathered Friends

At Burr Oak Farm, we not only care for our sheep flock, but enjoy the myriad excitements that nature provides.  We not only feed the flock but also provide a habitat that is in concert with the entire eco-system.

For a long time we have been looking for a suet feeder that was well designed, performed as anticipated, was ruggedly built, would last a long time and delivered all these features at a reasonable price.

We believe we have finally found a suet feeder that meets our tough criteria and are pleased to offer our locally made, hand crafted suet feeder.

The feeder frame is made of cedar which is naturally resistant to rot and decay.  This wood will weather naturally to an attractive gray color.

The suet is held in the feeder by a polymer coated wire mesh.  This material is designed for exposure to the sunlight and will last for several years.  And it's strong enough to deter our pesky squirrels who have destroyed the other feeders we've used here.

There are no exposed metal surfaces.  This is important if you will be feeding birds when the temperature is below freezing in order to prevent the bird's tongue from being injured.

The feeder is easily suspended from a support by the attached polyester cord.  The cord is designed for use as outdoor clothes line and will serve for several years.

The "tail" on the feeder provides a convenient perch for the birds.  One side of the "tail" is even left rough in order to provide a more secure perch.

The feeder is sized to accept suet cakes which you may purchase from many stores specializing in food items for birds.

We include with each feeder a collection of recipes so you can make your own suet cakes.  We have also included some recipes that use alternative ingredients for those who might have difficulty locating suet.

And to top off these great features, we are able to offer this suet feeder for only $8.50 each (postage and handling included).
